Introducing the WindSword Toolbar EditorNearly every piece of Windows software these days has a toolbar under the menu bar and a status bar at the bottom of the window, many even have multiple toolbars. But have you ever tried creating one for yourself? Of course you have—and you’ve found the big problem. Using C++ class library facilities such as OWL or MFC you have to create the toolbar “on the fly” using previously stored resources and class member functions. So it can be done—there’s a lot of software out there which works in precisely this way. Even then, can you add combo boxes, bitmaps (256 colour bitmaps), text and other types of resource to your newly created toolbar? Have you ever considered how much easier it would be if you could simply draw the toolbar as a resource, in the same way that you draw a dialog box? If the answer to that question is “Yes!”, then the WindSword Toolbar Editor is for you. Put simply, the WindSword Toolbar Editor is a resource editor which can be used alongside your existing tools, to add toolbar and status bar resource types to your existing resource files. We could go on about how wonderful it is, and we have provided plenty of information about it, but here at WindSword we believe that if software isn’t its own best advertisement then it isn’t worth buying. So we’ve prepared a demo for you to try. |
